we have outlived kings and queens, world wars, recessions and a disastrous fire in 1998 which destroyed our company premises.

ORIGINS
We can trace the company’s origins back to 1862 as roof tilers and slaters.
John Atkinson Ceilings Ltd was founded in 1952, making us probably the oldest established suspended ceiling contractor in the UK. However, to more fully reflect the range of services offered, in 2003 the company name was changed to John Atkinson Interiors Ltd
We have always maintained our position as a leading specialist contractor over the years with a reputation for reliability and a sound, common sense approach. This has resulted in our contracts being delivered on time and to a high standard, at best value costs
Meeting demands for a more comprehensive package, our range of services now includes acoustic panels and baffles, acoustic art (Atkinson Acoustiprint ®) as well as our core business of suspended ceilings

Hospitality and retail: As well as giants such as Amazon, Marks & Spencer, Adidas, Direct Line and Lidl, we’ve carried out many projects for independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants all over the country
Commercial: From a single room to the largest building, during normal hours or while closed, we offer the highest levels of service and care
Health: We have a wealth of experience in carrying out works within a healthcare environment and appreciate the special requirements of working safely in a hygienic environment
Education: We are particularly experienced in carrying out works to a very tight schedule over holidays, and understand special importance of completion dates to meet the needs of the timetable
Local authorities, public services, military facilities and prisons: Our CHAS Accreditation and our being registered or approved by many local authorities means that we are able to carry out any work, at short notice if necessary
Community groups and societies: Wherever there’s problems with sound, from Scout huts to village halls to brass band practice rooms, and all points in between, we’ve been able to help

With a hugely experienced workforce of directly employed, highly skilled operatives, technical and management staff, we are ideally structured to meet the most exacting of contract programme requirements or challenging and complicated installations
