When Nestlé decided to build their new research facility in York, they knew that it would set the standard for similar schemes within the company anywhere in the world. The project involved a combination of new build and refurbishment, and the brief included a desire for maximum natural light, excellent acoustics and stylish design

In meeting rooms and circulation areas bespoke Burgess ceilings, B G Quattro boards and 6mm Multiboards were used, along with standard plasterboard, to create sweeping curved features and details

The research areas, housed within the existing building, used more of the Quattro and plasterboard to form sloping and horizontal ceilings thereby allowing maximum use of the space available

Within the new build side, the ceilings comprised Armstrong Ultima Planks installed in a 15mm ‘Microlook’ grid system

The finished result is a magnificent building, completed on time and within budget, the quality of which has exceeded any of the clients’ hopes and expectations, and which is a source of pride to the client, the design team and all parties involved in the build
